Reenvisioning Our Community Through Land Use and Development
Join our GCHIC community in advocating for a more accessible and transit-friendly community. GCHIC’s Land Use and Development Activites program seeks to foster dense, walkable, transit-oriented communities with our neighbors in mind.

Emphasizing Accessible Walkable Communities
This program encourages collaboration, emphasizes accountability, and empowers the community to be an active part of the development process. Through a three-pronged approach, we engage with stakeholders at every step of the way.
-
The Development Review and Community Planning section actively reviews, monitors, comments on, and, where necessary, challenges significant development and comprehensive planning activities impacting the community.
-
The Land Use Policy section works with community, business, and governmental stakeholders to create and implement policies in line with our mission, values, and goals.
-
The Community Development and Land Banking section focuses on assembling tax-foreclosed, blighted, vacant, abandoned, or underutilized land for future community-serving economic development projects.
Through engagement and education, we will foster a community on one accord. Join us in shaping the future of the Greater Capital Heights region.
